School Opening Times

Our school is open five days a week, Monday - Friday unless a school closure is notified to parents in advance.  Short notice school closures (due to emergency situations such as severe weather conditions) are communicated to parents via the school website, the Somerset School Closures website and through communication on the FOBS Facebook page.  

Our current school opening times are as follows:

8.40am - Children may enter their classes

8.50am - The school day starts

9.00am - Registers close - arrival after this time is recorded as an unauthorised absence

3.20pm - The end of the school day

Daily hours in school - 6 hours and 15 minutes

Weekly hours in school - 32 hours and 30 minutes

Wrap Around Care - To support families needed additional childcare, before and after school care is available at Bowlish (8:00am-6:00pm) For further details please call us or see our website Wrap Around Care page.

School Calendar and Dates

A calendar for the year is available on the school website.  The calendar for the following year is sent to parents at the earliest opportunity and this details planned INSET days when children are not required to attend school.  A calendar of important dates for the year is sent to parents as soon as possible in the autumn term.  Any changes to planned activities are notified to parents with as much time possible.
