Governors

If you need to contact our Governors, please ask the School Office.

At Bowlish, we greatly value the dedication and support of our school governors. They play an important role in helping us provide the very best education and opportunities for our children. By working closely with staff, parents, and the wider community, our governors help to guide the vision and direction of the school, ensuring that every decision we make puts our pupils first. Their time, care, and commitment make a real difference, and we are grateful for the expertise and encouragement they bring to school life.

What is a Governor?

A governor is appointed in a voluntary unpaid capacity for four years. The Board of Governors meets as often is required (At Bowlish they meet a minimum of 6 times a year). The Board has members with different skills, knowledge and experience. The business of the school is progressed by the whole Board of Governors working together in the best interests of the children.

What do the Board do?

The role of the Board of Governors is to make sure that the school provides pupils with a good education. The Board of Governors:

sets the school's plans and policies - employs the school staff - manages how the school spends budget - monitors, evaluates and supports the development of the school.

Who are our Governors?

There are at least two parent governors on the governing body and when vacancies arise, they are advertised to all parents.
