The school council is an important part of school life.
Every class chooses two children to represent them at council meetings each term. The children then have meetings with Mrs Gilbert about any developments happening in the school that the children can give input to. They communicate information from the meetings to the children in their class to gather their ideas too. School Council members are also given additional roles of responsibility such as helping at events.
This year the School Council have helped to decide on the charities that we will fundraise for: Guide dogs for the Blind and Happy Landings Animal Shelter. They thought of ways to raise money on Sport Relief day by having a picture to collect coins onto on the playground. The children also asked to have a toy sale as part of our Charity Week. They helped to set up the stalls and to sell toys and books after school. Pictures of this can be seen in the 'gallery' section of our website.
